Cotonou is best visited from November to February, when the weather is generally drier, sunnier, and more comfortable for beaches, sightseeing, markets, and cultural experiences. December and January are especially popular, while August offers a shorter dry period with fewer visitors and pleasant temperatures.

PACKING & HEALTH TIPS

Pack lightweight, breathable clothing, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent, and a hat for Cotonou’s warm, humid climate. During rainy periods, bring quick-drying clothes and a lightweight rain jacket. Carry essential medications, stay hydrated, use sun protection, and consider appropriate travel health precautions.
